7/21/10 Another Publix Trip

So....I had to go to the doctor today and the receptionists are amazed at how much I can save, but they seemed to have their doubts. The doctor's office is right around the corner from a Publix and I had my coupons with me so I made a trip there and then went back to the doctor's office to show them what I got. All the Hamburger Helpers here are being donated to a family.

7/21/10 Publix Trip

Okay...I need to preface this with a couple of things....

1. When I went to Publix last night, I stopped at the Customer Service desk and asked them if they would like for me to order the Crest and Hamburger Helper because I was going to get a lot of them. They told me that I didn't need to as long as I did not clean the shelves.

2. My dad went with me so he was able to do 2 transactions (he kept his receipts) and I did 2. Since he was with me, the cashier put the 5% senior citizen discount on all 4 transactions. I did not ask for the discount and inquired as to why it was being applied to my order.

3. We were at the store at 7:10 this morning so there were no lines and no crowds since they had just opened. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes (and that's with getting a cup of their free coffee!).

Here goes....

7/20/10 Piggly Wiggly

I usually don't shop at Piggly Wiggly because they aren't really "coupon friendly". They don't double coupons or accept competitors' coupons. However, there are times that they do give you a book of Greenbax stamps for every manufacturer coupon that you use. This was one of those times, I have been wanting to try this salad, and the coupons were about to expire.

7/17/10 CVS Trip

I have mixed feelings about this trip. I know I shouldn't complain because I got some really good deals. However, it's aggravating when I'm supposed to get ECBs and I don't. When I asked about it, I was told "I can't do anything about it. The register prints out what you're supposed to get." So...what do I do? I ask for the manager. And I'm told that she's on vacation. So...I paid more than I was supposed to for the 2nd transaction because I didn't get all my ECBs from the 1st one.

I didn't want Cheddar. I wanted the Spicy one. She told me that she couldn't give me a rain check if they had some Chex Mix. So...I either had to take the Cheddar or do without the rain check. I didn't know how hubby would feel about it because he's been wanting Chex Mix all week so I got it.

7/13/10 Food Lion Trips

I went to 2 stores today to try to stock up on the Capri Suns. The first one had plenty and would let us get as many as we wanted as long as we did separate transactions. But...I was running late for an appointment and thought that I could just stop at another Food Lion that allows us to do the same thing after the appointment. The 2nd Food Lion was completely out of Capri Suns so we just got the veggies. It wasn't until I got to the register that I realized that I grabbed some Green Giant veggies instead of Food Lion brand. The cashier wanted to check to see if they worked and they did so she just let me get them. I LOVE this Food Lion! Here's a summary of what I got today:

**Okay....this whole tax/no tax thing is confusing me. I wonder how two different CVSs in the same town, same county can come up with different amounts for their taxes. My mother did this same transaction in the morning and paid $.05. I did it in the afternoon and paid $.11. Don't get me wrong...I'm not complaining about paying taxes. I just wish there was a way to figure out how they calculate the taxes. Especially....when there shouldn't be taxes on any of this because they are considered food items.

7/3/10 Rite-Aid Trip

I try to avoid Rite-Aid as much as possible because: 1) they never seem to have what I want that's on sale, 2) they aren't very coupon friendly, and/or 3)they don't have a lot of deals that appeal to me. I went to get the Veet that was on sale, but, of course, they were out of it. According to them, they only get a truck in every other week. Sounds strange to me, but....
