  1. Wow I am so impressed. Did you buy lots of sunday papers or order coupons? Thanks for posting! Kelly

  2. Thanks, Kelly! I subscribe to the paper and my parents give me their copy. Depending on what coupons are in the paper, I'll buy extra copies each week. If there aren't that many "good" coupons, I'll only get a couple extra papers. When there's an extra insert (like P&G) or a lot of coupons I like, I'll buy as many as 8 additional papers. The Sunday paper only costs $1.25 so I figure that I make that up in only 1 trip to the store!

  3. Great job Laura! I absolutely love Publix :) Bummer thing is - a couple weeks ago somebody went in to my favorite store with over 50 vitamin water coupons stacked with store coupons from somewhere and cleaned the store out. Manager was so upset the next day that she made a rule that you can only use one competitor q of each type, including the Publix coupons. It's just terrible that someone like that could ruin it for the rest of us :( I've got my fingers crossed that she might lighten up a little over time.

  4. Thanks, Denise! It is a shame that the store will change the rules because of one person. When I'm going to get more than 10 of any item, I stop at the customer service desk to find out if they would rather I order the item or go ahead and purchase from the shelf. I've only had to order one thing.

I don't like it when I go in with hopes of getting the items that are on sale just to find out that someone has come in and cleared off the shelves. I try not to do the same thing. I try to think about the other shoppers.

  5. I just want to say that you should speak to your Publix manager and ask for clarity on their new coupon limit. I live near 6 Publix's and they are all very different about coupons. VitaminWater, Fuze, Powerade etc are Coke products on consignment and they ARE NOT losing money on that. They will actually receive a bonus from Coke if they sell out of everything that they have during the time frame of the promotion. Now what is a problem to them is if theywere completely empty and had to give out rainchecks. Rainchecks are awful to the store. When you turn in a raincheck after the sale, your store computes it as a lost or stolen merchandise. They lose the profit and do not get a bonus for it. Because I know this I NEVER take rainchecks even though technically we are entitled to them. I love my stores and I want them to do very well. I am on a first name basis with almost every manager at at least 3 of the stores that I shop at. Sometimes they will tell me things like "Bring on the "xyz" coupons we have plenty. Or they will ask me if there are any "hot" coupons out there for the upcoming sales that they may need to order more for. They do get a list of most everything out there but they hardly ever know about all of the coupons the venders put out on tearpads. Sorry, for rambling but I thought the comments could use a different perspective.

  6. Thanks for the comment. I never heard of the store considering merchandise purchased with a raincheck stolen or lost merchandise. I know when it comes in, it is added to their merchandise total and when it is scanned and used a raincheck on, it is taken out of their merchandise. I will check with my manager tomorrow to find out what the disadvantages of a raincheck are to the store and follow-up here with what he says.
